Montbell is one of my favorite clothing manufacturers because they make extremely lightweight clothing that is especially good for ultralight backpacking.
One of the first items I purchased from them is the Montbell Ultralight Down Vest, shown left. This is a great insulation layer worn alone on top of a base layer or under a wind shell. I also often wear it in my sleeping bag. The vest stuffs down to the size of a baseball and only weighs 5.2 oz. If you are trying to shed pack weight, this is a great replacement item for a fleece pullover.
The front is closed using snaps and does not have pockets to reduce weight. Elastic borders encircle the arm holes to keep heat from escaping the core and are quite comfortable. Made in Japan, Montbell clothing can run a bit small for western wearers, so be sure to check the size chart before ordering.
I highly recommend this garment and have owned it for going on 7 years now.
