    Test comment here from CaptainMouse. Sorry Comments were turned off until now. Sectionhiker is section hiking and I am moderating, but needed a bit of WordPress help to fix this.

    Backpack checklist helps –
    It’s lighter, more organized.
    We’re all set to go.

    All in the backpack,
    I am self-contained, ready.
    The woods are my home.

    Backpacking beauty . . .
    Those who do not, do not know.
    I pity their loss.

    Backpack rests on rock,
    heavier today, somehow.
    Snacks taste sweeter, too.

    Backpack gets heavy
    on Day Two; adjusting straps,
    hip belts chafe us both.

    Hailey carries gear,
    dog stuff, in her own backpack.
    It doesn’t slow her.

    Many wasps sting us,
    and they have my tent for now . . .
    I keep the backpack.

    Epi-pen in backpack;
    Down the trail . . . to hospital.
    Eight Yellow Jackets.

    If only backpack,
    but also dirt road night drive –
    Mechanic richer.

    The sentry attacks,
    goes down in a mist of Raid.
    Hive sleeps, backpack out.

    Steak in my backpack
    was for dinner, but not now –
    Yummy breakfast, though.

    My backpack, my tent,
    bags, and mats, are all we need –
    We have each other.

    I backpack with her;
    We sleep to the night music –
    Cricket serenade.

    I love Deb, she me.
    We both love backpacking trips –
    What an adventure!

    Backpacking lays bare –
    All quirks emerge on the trek.
    It makes us closer.

    Backpack spills contents –
    Breakfast doesn’t get better
    than steak on the fire.

    She hoists her backpack;
    We head back to our day jobs,
    planning for the next.

    Backpacking Reed’s Gap –
    Wild-growing magic kingdom . . .
    Not soon enough back.

    I’ve told the story
    Of our backpacking trail hike –
    Left out a few details . . .

    Backpacking is real,
    Regular life distracting.
    Win the lottery!

    This is too much fun!
    Haiku flows from my fingers . . .
    Backpack prize, maybe.

    I can’t stop writing!
    Backpack prize secondary;
    Two-fifteen A – M.
