A bomber backpack for week-long treks and quick alpine climbs.

As the little brother of the Denali 100, the Gregory Denali 75 Backpack is designed for quick alpine climbs and minimalist expeditions. While maintaining the same technical prowess of the Denali 100, this more nimble option will deliver the same bombproof performance as the bigger version whether you're getting deep into the backcountry or high into the alpine.

In order to save weight, Gregory went with a lighter 210D nylon fabric with 420D high-density reinforcements where they are needed most. A puncture resistant, internally laminated front panel protects against ice axes, crampons, and ski edges, while the 630D high-density nylon base protects the bottom of the pack from rock, ice, and the wear and tear of travel. For suspension, the pack is fitted with Gregory's top-of-the-line Fusion Flex Pro system. The system is composed of two 7075 aluminum frame stays that can be removed, as well as a sewn-in framesheet for additional support and to prevent gear from jabbing your back. An anti-barreling tubular cross-stay prevents the bag from bunching when weighed down with a heavy load. High-density EVA foam padding at the shoulders, back, and hip pads ensure a comfortable fit, while the hip pads can be removed for a more comfortable feel when wearing a harness.

The classic top-loading design allows the bag to be accessed from the top as well as from the side through the full-length side slash zip access point. A removable lid is fitted with a zippered pocket on the underside for small items. Side mesh pockets stow water bottles, and dual zippered waist belt pockets are great for light items like a GPS or snacks. An internal hydration reservoir with tube port makes hiking with a bladder possible, and a quick-access zippered side packet is designed to keep your topo map close at hand. Since the pack is designed for serious expeditions, the front of the Denali 100 provides multiple carry options form ice axes, rope, and an A-frame ski carry system.

Nice pack, poor durability

I bought this pack a couple weeks ago. Overall a nice pack and design, however on my first trip out with the pack, I noticed tears already beginning to form at the base of the compression straps. For the price of the pack, one would hope for a little more durability.

Amazing backpack

Summit rainier with it. Amazing product, comfy, light, and with a huge capacity. Lot of room inside but also outside with many options to tie things outside. I strongly recommend this bag.

Very comfortable with heavy loads, and well dialed features for mountain objectives. My preference would be to have a sleeve for an avi shovel and probe, but as is, it’s a great pack.

Quality pack with great features, not the most comfortable

This pack is excellent for longer expeditions where you need to hold a ton of gear and food. Lots of great organizational features, and overall just very smartly designed. My only complaint is the edges of the pad on the lower back can be extremely irritating if you are only wearing a baselayer.

Awesome pack.

Clear lots of thought went into these. I use this as my all around climbing pack, holds a ton of gear really well but can be lightened up fairly easy if needed. Gets a lot of use (100 days a year) and still looks nearly new. Tons of well thought out compartments. This thing is great. My only complaint is the chest strap, designed to be removable, is not good at staying in place unless buckled and in use. Nearly lost it a few times, now it stays in the zippered pouch on the top pack unless I want it for longer hikes.

Great space !!

I bought the Denali after reading many many reviews of other brands and knowing that you can’t go wrong with the Denali ! This backpack in the previous versions have been at rhe top of the world and in so many other moubtains !! I use it in Aconcagua with my friends. Hiking to the base camp and I wasn’t sore on my shoulders and lower back . The harness system is great! I would definitely recommend it !

Terrible

This is supposed to be an expedition pack for long climbs or distances. Well let me tell you, after taking it on just a 3 day trip it left bruises on my hips, lower back, and my shoulders felt as if they couldn't go on anymore. The measurements for this pack are not correct for aligning it with your torso/spine, I have the alpinisto and it is more comfortable than this piece of junk. Can't believe I spent so much money on something that I absolutely will not take up Denali next summer. Honestly glad it couldn't happen this year and didn't have to use this pack on it. It would've been impossible to carry and drag everything needed for a trip like that. I'll be saving up and spending my money elsewhere on another pack so that I don't have to feel like I'm being tortured by what is supposed to be one of the most comfortable pieces of equipment on big expeditions. My wife even wore this for part of our 40 mile loop in the winds because my body couldn't handle it anymore, I literally had to make a padded belt out of my fleece just so I could bear the weight in my pack, which wasn't even that much. If I could give this pack 0 stars, I would.
