Nothing close to waterproof
My boots were brand new and I wore them once for a day hike last week. There was still some snow left in the trail, but I told myself it didn't matter as I was wearing brand new waterproof boots. I was so wrong. After just a few hours, my feet were soaking wet. I'm very disappointed by this first Vasque purchase.

Hiked It. LOVED IT.
Wore these on a 1.5 week long west coast road trip. No break in period at all. I wore them through Yosemite, 14 mile-hike through the Red Woods, and days in Washington (Mt. Rainer and Olympic National). I had to give my husband piggy-back rides through puddles and mud to keep his feet dry. I walked through ankle deep water and walked away completely dry. Not to mention I have wide feet and my feet felt fresh at the end of each day.

Survived the Camino de Santiago
I bought two pairs of these shoes to train for and to hike the Camino. They did not disappoint. While many of my colleagues shoe soles blew out - my Vasques remained strong. In fact, after a 900k - they still look and feel great.

Good support not waterproof
I wire these for the first time today. They give great support and are very comfortable. The reason for the two star rating is because they did not keep my socks dry. . I walked through damp grass, and when I got home my socks were wet.

Wet grass soaks through, after one year
Love how these look, and feel, but the waterproofing is completely gone after just one year of occasional wear. Wet grass is enough!

Very comfy and supportive. No longer waterproof.
I’ve had these about 2 months and while they are very comfortable and supportive, I noticed recently they’re no longer waterproof in the toes. When I walk around the wet or dewy grass in our backyard with them on, the toes of my socks get soaked. Extremely disappointing as my previous Vasque Breezes, purchased 5 years ago, are still 100% waterproof.

Comfortable w/ Great Traction
Recently broken them in and really happy with these boots! Mid-rise with good ankle support and better tread than my former TEVAs for downhill traction. All around a solid hiking boot without sacrificing style

Doesn't hold a candle to the Breeze III
- Familiarity:
- I returned this product before using it
THIS IS NOT THE SAME BOOT. I was so excited to see the return of the Breeze that I immediately purchased. My first pair of hiking boots was the Breeze II in a 7.5, and when I got a little older I purchased the Breeze III in an 8W. I loved that it had a rigid sole, plenty of space for my square-shaped toe area, and that it had unparalleled ankle support that kept my heel in place and prevented my toes from harm. My foot has gotten a little bigger and I went to purchase this new Breeze model in a 8.5W and am so disappointed. Everything I loved about the Breeze III is gone! Gone is the dual-density midsole which gives the feeling over a thicker sole with a higher torsional rigidity - the new Breeze model has a MUCH higher forefoot flex which I think is fine for a trail runner but cannot stand in a hiking boot. The new Breeze model has a much larger reinforced toe cap that extends to the metatarsals and decreases the total area of that breathable fabric at the top of the toe and at the sides of the boot - this higher profile means that there is much less flexibility at the top of the toe area, a problem for people with a more square foot or upturned toes that enjoyed not hitting a reinforced toe box every step. And the part that upsets me most: The ankle support is just gone. My favorite part of the Breeze III is that I can hike downhill all day and the rigid ankle support locks my heel in place and saves my toes the abuse. I think this is an all around fit change, but they did change the midfoot locking hooks from a double shank to a single which may contribute to the problem.

"Vasque Dry" doesn't work
This is my second pair of Breeze boots. First pair with Gore-Tex lining never leaked. New pair with "Vasque Dry" is not waterproof. My toes are getting wet, have had boots for only one month.
