Why We Like The Ghost Whisperer UL Jacket
The original Ghost Whisperer was already one of the lightest down jackets on the market, but we love that Mountain Hardwear had to go even lighter with the Ghost Whisperer UL Jacket. At a scant six ounces, the Ghost Whisperer UL utilizes down insulation with the highest fill rating available.
1000-fill down doesn't mean this is the warmest, loftiest jacket around, but rather the lightest and most compressible down that you could find. That down adds to the jacket's lightness and lets you pack the whole thing in its own pocket for compact storage. Mountain Hardwear also changed the shell with a 5D ripstop for lighter weight, and it still has a DWR treatment for water-resistance against passing showers or snowfall.

Light and Warm
super light and warm. Men's small fits me well and I am a 5'7" 130 lb woman. The womens coats seem too short. It is expensive but it is significantly warmer than even my 800 fill lightweight puffy.

Unbelievably Light
Unbelievably light and well constructed. It was a little more money than I wanted to spend, but once I received the jacket I have no regrets!

I’m happy
I think that the jacket is great. But I’ve worn it two times. And I can tell that the zipper is going to be the first thing that goes. To flimsy but I understand it’s prob the way you save a tone of weight. Going to put it to the test!

Way too big. Not an athletic fit like the older Ghost Whisperer.
I already own a Mountain Hardware Ghost Whisperer jacket from 2016-2017, so I ordered the same SMALL version of this jacket, because it fits perfectly on my SMALL body with MEDIUM length arms. This v2 UL jacket is much wider in the torso AND the sleeves are 2" shorter for the same SMALL size. I was super disappointed. Returned it.

I own both 800 fill and 1000 fill versions
I own both Ghost whisperer 2 and ghost whisperer UL. Both are amazing. The fit and weight makes it feel as though you are not wearing a jacket at all because they are so comfy. But yet, they are warm. For me, these are the best puffies on the planet. 1000 fill is a few ounces lighter and more pack able. The warmth is similar. If you find the UL on sale, I prefer it over the 800 fill version, but for most people, they are virtually the same jacket

Worked like a charm on my Iceland trip!
Great light puffy that is super effective! However, I do see tiny little down feathers leaking out after a weeks worth of use. Its negligible, but I do see it. Hopefully, it doesn't get any worse. No rough activities performed that might cause this.
