  1. Phillip, thanks for this list. Between the hillsound ultras and kathoola microspikes, is there a clear winner or under the same scenarios will they perform similarly?

    • The Hillsounds have a velcro straps that keeps them from popping off. I’ve lost Kahtoolas on hikes because I didn’t realize that one had popped off….makes hiking up an ice covered hill very difficult with just one microspike.

  2. I noticed that you mentioned the TSL snowshoes again like last year. But you have never reviewed these as far as I can tell–I would guess that you use MSR snowshoes, based on your previous in-depth review of those. I am interested because I want to know how the TSL snowshoes compare to the MSR snowshoes. Thanks for any insight you can provide into this.
