Great piece of kit
Have this jacket for a year now,i use it for wild camping when i stay severay days outdoora without any contact of civilization. I use it as part of my kit that will keep the wind out ,keep me warm without bulking and if i manage to get caught in rain it will keep me dry,it did all these things. However, jacket is not for prolonged rain since outer fabrix is soft and cant apply dwr properly like on other shell jackets,it gets extremly wey on outside that it gets you feeling cold even with some layers underneath. Front pockets are not waterproof since they dont have taped seams inside and water gets in easily. Overall i bought it at 50% of the retail price and im extremly happy, jacket is comfortable, stretcy, tough and fits great just has some flaws to it and its not perfect.

Solid jacket for the mountains
Great product, had it for almost 5 years now. Its just starting to take in a bit of water. I've re-applied waterproofing a few times throughout the years, and use this ~30 times a year skiing in the Rockies. I will probably replace it, but overall a great jacket that I was very impressed with.

Need to go back to the drawing board.
I too had trouble with the water getting right thru. Even from brand new this doesn't really have a DWR layer, it just absorbs, but you notice after anything more then light rain that it soaks thru eventually. Also to echo some here, the chest pockets become full of water in heavy rain, they're not waterproof, its silly. Perhaps they need to use Gore-tex if they can't create their own waterproof fabrics.

Excellent Shell Jacket
This is the best shell jacket I have ever owned! On a recent trip to Paris, I wore it for 7 straight days, and experienced high winds and rain every day. The jacket kept me warm, it is thoroughly water resistant and I felt ´dry’ inside, with my Keb hoodie. Furthermore the jacket is ´quiet’ and I like the pocket location and ventilation options. Would buy again in a heartbeat. It’s an investment!

Dealbreaking flaw
This jacket was excellent with one massive dealbreaking flaw. The protection it offers is excellent and I love the upper utility pockets. However, the fact that it lacks handwarmer pockets is a dealbreaker. I returned my jacket for this reason. I would buy it again in a heartbeat if a new model came out with handwarmer pockets. It is a massive disappointment that Fjallraven only offers 2 durable eco-shell jackets, and neither has usable hand pockets

Great eco shell and color
I like the style of this jacket. I can open and close with my winter glove but sometimes a little harder. I wish they have more color option before I bought it.

Total satisfaction
Bought the blue Keb Eco Shell jacket a few weeks ago. Getting used to proper layering techniques and now very pleased with this product. I have used it on hour long walks with my wife. It looks great, is comfortable and wind proof. I like the fact that it is ‘quiet’ when walking. I am planning on going backcountry skiing next week and the Keb shell will certainly be included an excellent addition to my gear. It is still too cold in Quebec to have (recently) experienced rain. I’ll write another review when that happens.

Great jacket, but the pockets...
- Familiarity:

It took me a long time before I decided to return the jacket. But I did return it. The jacket has a perfect fit, can be layered over a softshell and yet does not look bulky when worn by itself. The fabric is comfortable, not "crinkly". The blue color works in the wilderness as well as in civilization. But the pockets are a deal breaker. The two big chest pockets may be good when carrying a pack, but at all other times they are less than useful. Preparing for a longer backpacking trip, I decided against this jacket and for a model from Arcteryx with two higher side pockets. If this jacket is ever re-designed, I will buy it, again.

I had higher expectations
With the first rain showers I realize the draw cords in the hood don't stay in place once pulled. Customer service: its normal. Well, besides I have other jackets and the drawcord stay in place. But let's forget it and assume it is made like this for some reason (which I find difficult to understand). Front pockets soaked at the bottom, water comes through the seam. Everything in the pocket was wet, including the phone. This is EXTREMELY disappointing for a jacket that promise water proofing at 30000 mm of rain. Otherwise a good jacket, worth it's prize, though?

Stretchy, breathable hardshell, no PFAS
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
- Size Bought:
- Small

- Weight:

The 3 layer Eco-Shell material in this hardshell jacket is the standout feature: More stretchy than Gore-Tex, but excellent waterproofing and highly breathable. I use it for everything: from warm weather rainy hikes to skiing. Needs occasional DWR spray treatment like any Gore-Tex/waterproof item, Fjallraven sells this separately. And unlike Gore-Tex, no PFAS in the material. Unfortunately the zippers do have PFAS, Fjallraven says no zipper manufacturer in the world makes waterproof zippers without it. The highly adjustable hood is great, I find it fits over my ski helmet, but also stays tightly in place without any headgear. The "Napoleon" pockets are designed to be accessible with a backpack. The tradeoff is no hand warming pockets (I use gloves, or in a pinch, I open the pit zips and use my mid-layer pockets). There's an inner pocket too, and a ski pass pocket. Easy to tighten on the waist and cuffs. I think it also looks great, especially the Chestnut color. Backcountry is an authorized Fjallraven reseller, so it should qualify for lifetime repairs.
