If you are like me and eat a lot of freezer bag or dehydrated meals out of plastic bags, chances are good that you are going to drop some oatmeal or curried chicken down the front of your shirt. That’s not good, because the bears will come for you at night….

However, you can improve your chances of hitting your mouth (or avoiding your shirt) by getting yourself a long handled spoon to eat your meals with. The extra length really comes in handy when you are trying to dig the last precious calories out of a ziploc and makes a much better catapult in the event of a food fight.
There was a time when you could buy Titanium spoons like this from the Backpackinglight.com store (when they bothered to keep stuff in stock), but now you can also get them from the Sectionhiker.com Gear Shop for only $13.95.
